Caroline Kahn is a PhD student at the Colorectal Cancer Research Unit at the Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark. She is also a part of the Danish HNPCC register, Gastro Unit, Surgical Section at the Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark. She has a background in bioinformatics along with molecular genetics and gut microbiology. Her main research areas include liquid based molecular biomarkers for early colorectal cancer detection with a focus on microsatellite-unstable (MSI) tumors. She is especially interested in molecular tumor biology and she is focused on molecular analyses that can improve and optimize current screening and surveillance programs.
At the EHTG 2024, Miss Kahn will be giving an update on the ongoing Endoscopy V project at Hvidovre Hospital, where liquid biopsies including blood-, urine- and fecal samples are being gathered from individuals with a hereditary disposition of colorectal cancer for the collaborative development of future surveillance tools.
